We had a delightful stay at a traditional Kyoto house, the Guesthouse Hana Nishijin. The charming owner went out of her way to make our experience memorable, even stopping Geishas passing by for a photo. The location was convenient, being close to Hirano shrine and bus stops. The rooms were spacious and we even had the option to rent kimonos. The house was clean and the bathroom facilities were modern. Despite a few minor inconveniences, like thin walls and street noise, the overall experience was wonderful. I highly recommend staying at the Guesthouse Hana Nishijin for an authentic Kyoto experience.

We had a very special experience staying at Hana Nishijin. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, making our stay memorable. The property itself is a beautifully maintained traditional house, providing an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The futon combination was the best we experienced in Japan. We only wish we had stayed longer. highly recommended.

The room was cozy and well-equipped, with an electric kettle and air conditioning. I loved the communal living room and the free Wi-Fi, which made it easy for me to stay connected. The shared bathrooms were clean, and they even provided complimentary toiletries. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Personally, I didn't really like the shared bathrooms, although they did provide complimentary toiletries. But hey, different strokes for different folks!

Spent xmas in a small guesthouse, with just the two of us. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and always offered tea and toast. The house was located in a quiet neighbourhood with a bus stop around the corner, where we could catch a ride to all the major sites. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a small garden right outside. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of this authentic Japanese home.
The bathroom was shared and not as clean as we expected. The house was older and a bit rundown, which made us feel uncomfortable at times.
